First trip in 2018 goes to Ipoh & Penang! ♥Part2

HIHI Welcome back! Yes, here's the part2 of my first short getaway in 2018.
For those who haven't seen the Part1 of the blogpost yet,
click the link below to read what I have done in Ipoh! ^.^

So today's topic is going to be all about Penang.
Hand's up if you love their food too!
I'm crazily in love with the local food there...
And of course, some dessert places are very remarkable and I was impressed!
Alright now, let me bring you to the food journey
LET'S GOOOOO

--3pm--
First stop> The famous Char Kway Teow@ the corner of Siam Road and Anson Road
Operating hour:
3pm- 7pm or till sold out,
Closed on Mondays

This is best known of its charcoal cooked KueyTeow by this uncle.
The location is kind of hidden if you're not familiar with the Penang streets.
We turned rounds and rounds to find it!
Just because we were too early at nearby the area, we decided to be there at 3pm when this uncle was just about to setup his stall.
After rounds and finally, we saw the uncle pushing the cart towards the operating spot.
We just followed him there haha.
Anyway, you can just search for Hock Ban Hin Cafe in waze which is just right opposite this kiosk.
(we had no idea before that)

Not being exaggerating here, but the queue was really crazy.
Even though we were almost the earliest there, guess what.. they were more ppl already waiting in the Kopitiam. LOL
So in the end, we waited for about an hour under this hot weather!
And the seats were full, so we had to wait outside the restaurant.
*You definitely could imagine how great the KueyTeow was*

Real traditional way of cooking is always the best!
And I really salute his effort and passion that he puts in.

Look at this GOLDEN CHAW KUEY TEOW!
Omg I feel hungry already looking at this pic *Slurp*
Not a second thought you should come and try this!
The heavenly tasted of the original chaw kuey teow using charcoal to cook is simply amazing...
The best I had so far!! Will be back soon!

--5.30pm--
Checked in to Hotel Neo+
Rm200 per night
It's a good stay overall!

--6.30pm--
Dinner time@ Red Garden

I would say better go for other Hawker food place like Gurney food paradise.
Because it was a disappointment during our visit here.
It was not as good as the ppl rated online! >.<
Anyway, It was still a decent dinner and we enjoyed our food there too.

What's next after dinner?
It's dessert time!

This cafe is located at Georgetown. Sugar On Top Cafe
So much in love in their Matcha lava cake!
It's a must-visit cafe if you come to Penang.
I'll be back real soon, most probably in July yay!

OMO...
Look at the filling!
SOOO satisfying eating it at such a cozy cafe.
You have to come and try it by yourself :D
Here goes to the end of the Day1 Food hunting!

Day2
--8.30--
Breakie@Duo Chun Kopitiam

As you all know, I love Asian Breakfast!!
And this is the right place you should really try it.
They serve very nice Teh and toasted bread, the minus point of this place is the service.
It's really slow and not efficient at all.
So pls prepare more time before heading here!
And be patient :D

--11am--
Bird nest high-tea@Penang Street Art

I love their egg tart with bird nest on top!
And it's the best among the rest I ordered.
Overall I like all the dessert here and would be back certainly when I go Penang.
You wouldn't want to miss this different kind of High-Tea experience in your life.

--1pm--
Visited Gek lok si for the first time

--2pm--
Lunch@ Air Asam Laksa

The famous Asam Laksa that I had been waiting for...
Not bad!
Penang food is always awesome even just a hawker stall beside the road.
It has its historical background and story behind.

--3pm--
Famous Cendol@Penang road

The long-waited moment!
How can you not to have cendol when you visit Penang?!
Too good to have it during the sunny weather urgh...
And guess what, we went to the hawker just right beside after finishing our cendol.
Look at what we ordered!

This popiah was just soso...
But the best is yet to come!!!

YAS. This plate of fried oyster made our day!
Love it to the max.
The best food we had throughout the trip I guess.
I know your saliva is coming out ahaha
Just plan a short trip to Penang then! ^.^
I will definitely be back very soon hehe.

So that's all for my food hunting kind of trip!
Hope you enjoy reading and looking at the yummy food porn :D
Btw, the next blog will be a little more exciting...
